Catechesis is the verbal teaching of the Catechism. It is a personal sharing of our Catholic faith. Our goal is to create a future for our children in our Catholic community.
The Catechism, a published document (book) contains the essential and fundamental content of the Catholic faith in a complete and summarized way. It presents what Catholics throughout the world believe in common. It presents these truths in a way that facilitates their understanding.
At Assumption Parish we strive to accommodate both adult teaching and sharing our faith at a level suitable to children. If you are interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith please take advantage of our faith sharing opportunities.

Please pray about getting involved. Faith Formation for Adults – RCIA, Faith Formation for Children, and Vacation Bible School are wonderful opportunities to share your faith. You know more than you think and have much more to offer. Every life experience is an opportunity to share God’s Word!
For reference to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, please see the Vatican Archives.
The Catechism serves several important functions:
• It conveys the essential, fundamental content of Catholic faith and morals completely and succinctly.
• It is a point of reference for national and diocesan catechisms.
• It is a positive, objective and declarative exposition of Catholic doctrine.
• It is intended to assist those who have the duty to catechize, namely promoters and teachers of catechesis.
